September 26th - Pack Meeting

Logan and Evan picking one of the cheers for the evening.  They both received their wolf badges this night.  This was a great pack meeting.  We had great  participation and a lot of fun cheering with and for each other!
Bro. Liles pouring out a big glass of wolf's blood for Logan and Evan and their lucky parent.  He works hard to track down a wolf, get some blood from it (and then let it go, of course) and then transfer it into the official green "Wolf's Blood" container for this ceremony.  Here is my interpretation of everyone's expressions:  Evan - "What.  Is.  That."  Logan - "Hmmm...who can chug this the fastest - mom? or dad?"  Sis. Skabelund - "Not it!"  Bro. Skabelund - "Oh, come on, honey...it's just a little blood!"  Bro. Post - "I have got this one in the bag!"  Avery - "Give it to me!  Me!  I'll do it!"

The brave souls.  Perhaps we need slightly smaller portions for the slightly smaller boys, though....

Evan worked so HARD to finish that drink!  He earned an extra round of applause!

Stake Cub Scout Day Camp

Mark your calendars!  Stake Cub Scout Day Camp is Saturday, November 3rd from 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Usery Park.  The boys will be helping to clean hiking trails, doing a hike that will help them pass off some requirements, learning to tie various knots, navigating an obstacle course, cooking a hot dog lunch, participating in a ceremony to retire a flag...and that's just part of the agenda for the day.  It's going to be a really fun and productive experience for the cub scouts, but we need a head count for the stake to help them with their planning for food and other supplies.  Please post a quick comment about whether or not you think your cub scout will be able to attend.  Thank you!  Normally I would do something like this as a poll, but for some reason that option is just not working on this site today....

Archery class at Usery Park

There is an opportunity for at least 10 of our cub scouts to attend a morning archery class over two sequential months: an Archery 101 class one month and then Archery 202 the next.  Please post a comment below stating whether December/January or January/February would be best for your scout if he were to take these classes.  They are free of charge at Usery Park - LaDawn and I both have park passes there, so we can get a group in for "free."  Right now we're simply determining the level of interest and then we can pursue it further.  If December/January is best for the majority, then we need to register fairly quickly, so please let us know ASAP!

New info site for Pack 377

Hello scouts and families of Pack 377!  Due to the former web site no longer being hosted, we are switching to the simple format of a blog to keep you informed on the comings and goings of Pack 377.  Since the families are as vital a part of the program as the scouts, it's important for you to stay in the loop.  This is part of our effort to facilitate that.  Please check back here often for updates on upcoming activities, summaries and pictures of past activities, and other helpful links and information.  If you have a question about something pack-related, please ask it here.  Chances are someone else has the same question and the asking/answering of it on this site will benefit everyone.

The scouting program year effectively starts over with the new school year (September through May, for the main part of the program) and we are excited about this new year!  There are lots of fun activities planned, including a recruiting activity at Zaharis Elementary's Meet the Teacher Night and a summer swim activity toward the end of August.  Check back here for more details soon!

Because information (including pictures) about our children will be posted here, this is being set up as a private blog, accessible by invitation only.
