Hello Families of Pack 377! We hope you have all had a very Merry Christmas! As we look ahead to a Happy New Year, we are sending out a request, or letting you know of the opportunity, for donations of "experienced" uniforms to be kept in reserve for any new members who come into our pack who may be in need of some help with getting their uniform. These can be youth uniforms as well as adult uniforms. If your scout doesn't have anyone in his family to whom he can pass down his uniform, please consider this as an option. If you're doing some end of year cleaning and come across those extra uniforms that you've been hanging onto in case you need them 'someday,' please consider this as an option for clearing some space in your home. As I said, adult uniforms are very useful to other committee members as well - this can include you if you unexpectedly find that you need that uniform back!
Another service opportunity coming up is Scouting for Food on January 31st. We will join the Boy Scouts the week before to hand out flyers, and then join with them again that Saturday to drive the routes to pick up food donations. Please mark your calendar for this activity that morning and be sure to let us know if you are willing to make/take the time and have the vehicle resources to help us drive and pick up donations. This is such a great activity for the boys to be an example to the community of service as they help people take advantage of the opportunity to generously give to those in need. They get such great compliments from the people in our community about how great they look in their Cub Scout uniforms and about how polite and helpful they are. We are so proud of our Scouts every year and they really enjoy being a part of Scouting for Food!
Be sure to check the calendar to the right for other important Pack events, such as Pack Meeting and Den Meetings in January. Look ahead to February for Scout-)-Rama and start saving those milk jug lids to help us with our Catapult booth at Scout-O-Rama!
