December - Pack Meeting and Belt Loops

Hello, Pack 377 families!  Can you believe December is upon us already?  We hope you are planning on joining us outside at the church for a special pack meeting.  We have several boys receiving advancement awards and Order of the Arrow coming to do special presentations for those awards.  They really help teach the boys about some of the meaning of the Scouting program and it will be a great evening!  Join us at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 12th.  Please be sure your scouts are in full uniform for this special awards ceremony.

Also, please be aware of the featured belt loops for December:

Good Manners:  Cub Scouts will learn to be polite and respectful, write a thank-you note to someone who has given them something or done something nice for them, and know how to introduce two people correctly and politely.

Ice Skating:  Ice Skating is a great winter activity for Cub Scouts (believe it or not, there are a few places for ice skating here in the valley).  As they learn to ice skate, they can apply their skills to earn the Ice Skating belt loop and pin.

These are not the only belt loops and pins available, and this is not the only month these two belt loops can be earned.  Please see the link on the right side of the blog for Belt Loops and Pins Worksheets to see the full list of sports and academics belt loops the scouts are able to earn.  This is a great way for them to regularly earn recognition for things they are already doing, or for something new they have learned.  If they've already earned a particular belt loop, look at the further requirements for earning the pin.  The sports and academic pins should not be worn on the uniform, but there are many other ways those can be displayed to demonstrate the Cub Scouts' accomplishments!

Thank you to those of you who were able to join us at November's pack meeting.  It was a fun evening!  To those of who were unable to make it, please know that you were missed and that we hope to see you in December.
